About the position

The Project Budget Analyst will support the development facility of an automotive OEM by managing budget tracking, reporting, and invoice management. This role is a 6+ month contract position with the potential for extension or transition to a direct hire. The analyst will be responsible for maintaining budget spreadsheets, resolving budget issues, and facilitating procurement processes while ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with internal audits.

Responsibilities

  • Track project and fixed asset budget information for the facility
  • Maintain budget spreadsheet and update reporting for monthly meetings
  • Resolve budget issues regarding check requests, purchase requisitions, and travel with the Finance department
  • Resolve any budget issues regarding open purchase orders, committed and actual funds
  • Responsible for Request For Quotation (RFQ), Purchase Requisition (PR), and Check Requests (CR) input from the local team
  • Create budget detail reports for Engineers pertaining to their particular department budgets
  • Order all materials, gases, and equipment for local teams
  • Process and track all invoices, including adjusting budgets as needed
  • Provide the Purchasing team with proper documents and receive verification of invoices prior to forwarding to Finance for processing of payment
  • Interact with Purchasing and Finance Teams to facilitate and track procurement and payment progress
  • Track all purchase requests outside of the SAP/WBS systems, reporting per individual budget
  • Oversight of Fixed Asset inventory/process
  • Track all assets
  • Manage asset transfer and disposal
  • Complete internal/annual audits and coordinate with the Finance team

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Prior experience with accounting software like SAP
  • Bachelor's degree is a plus
  • Prior bookkeeping or AR/AP experience is a plus
  • Ability to interact with purchasing and finance groups
  • Experience with scheduling, tracking invoices, working with quotes, POs, expenses, and/or reporting is a plus
  • Prior Automotive experience is a plus
  • Experience with MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as organizational skills
  • Prior Budget Experience
