About the position

The Budget Analyst position at Ledgent Finance & Accounting is a contract role based in West Palm Beach, FL, offering a competitive hourly rate of up to $30. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with state and federal grant requirements, which involves a comprehensive understanding of financial regulations and the ability to manage multiple financial tasks effectively. The analyst will be responsible for preparing and maintaining cash flow projections for various grants and projects, coordinating with project managers to ensure that all financial transactions align with grant compliance standards. This includes generating monthly reports for grant expense reimbursements and preparing detailed budget and financial analyses to support decision-making processes within the organization. In addition to these responsibilities, the Budget Analyst will prepare journal entries in the financial system and assist with other financial duties as they arise. The role requires a detail-oriented individual who is well-organized and capable of thriving in a fast-paced office environment. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for this position, as the analyst will need to collaborate with various stakeholders and present financial information clearly and effectively. The ideal candidate will be proactive, self-motivated, and possess a process-oriented mindset, ensuring that all financial activities are conducted efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Understand state and federal grant requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain grant/project cash flow projections.
  • Coordinate with project managers on financial transactions to ensure grant compliance.
  • Generate monthly grant expense reimbursements reporting.
  • Prepare budget/financial analyses.
  • Prepare journal entries in financial system.
  • Perform other duties as needs arise.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Public/Business Administration.
  • 2+ years of current and relevant budget/financial experience, preferably with governmental and/or grant compliance experience.
  • Advanced MS Excel user, proficient in MS Office products; SAP experience is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized, comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and process-oriented.
