About the position

The Financial Management Analyst will be a key member of the Department of Defense (DoD) financial management team, responsible for managing and optimizing financial processes in a client-facing role. This position requires expertise in financial management tools such as SAP-FM, Qlik, Oracle, and Power BI, and involves collaboration with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions. The analyst will also lead the implementation of dashboards and analytics, develop training materials, and support user adoption of analytic tools.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand their financial management needs and generate product roadmaps.
  • Work with the development team to translate requirements into usable products using financial data, identify trends, and create visually compelling reports and dashboards.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of dashboards/analytics, providing leadership and direction to developers and guidance to end-users.
  • Develop approaches, create, and present PowerPoint presentations, and facilitate meetings.
  • Conduct analyses of current applications in relation to user needs and identify potential areas for improvement.
  • Provide ideas to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Plan, develop, and implement an effective Change Management strategy to support user adoption of analytic tools.
  • Develop training material and conduct end-user training to support user adoption of analytic tools.
  • Align goals, objectives, and strategic initiatives across analytical products and portfolios.

Requirements

  • Secret clearance is required; interim secret will be accepted.
  • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in DoD Financial Management, within DoD Headquarters or DoD Components.
  • Experience working in an Agile / Scrum environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data accurately.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work at least 2-3 days per week onsite (Pentagon & McLean, VA).

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Qlik, Tableau, or Power BI is a significant plus.
  • CSM, PMP, or other project management certification preferred.
  • Recent DoD experience, especially in Financial Management.
  • Experience working in an AWS environment.
  • Previous experience with Advana is a plus.
