About the position

The Budget and Financial Analyst position at MITRE involves providing resource management expertise to support budget formulation and justification for national security initiatives. The role requires collaboration with senior intelligence officials to ensure mission requirements are funded and executed effectively. Analysts will deliver comprehensive analyses and recommendations to inform decision-making processes, contributing to the overall strategy and policy formulation within the Intelligence Center.

Responsibilities

• Deliver analysis results and recommendations within products such as Congressional Budget Justification Book and supporting analyses.
• Collect, analyze, and disseminate budget and financial data while working with senior staff across the government.
• Provide analysis and assessment of technical and programmatic baselines to ensure alignment with directorate needs.
• Assess policy changes and technology insertion effects on budget requests.
• Review, analyze, and summarize budget exhibits.
• Leverage existing IT systems to collect, monitor, and analyze current budget allocations.
• Provide clear, concise, and unbiased recommendations to senior government officials.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with current polygraph.
• Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with relevant experience.
• Experience with analysis conducted using Microsoft Excel.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, accounting, or related field with a fundamental level of data analysis.
• Ability to lead a financial-related study and conduct research.
