About the position

The USC Institute for Addiction Science is seeking a Business Analyst to provide financial and administrative oversight for various tasks related to procurement, accounting, contracts and grants, and HR administration. This role will operate under the guidance of the Chief Finance and Administration Officer, focusing primarily on pre and post-award grant administration. Additionally, the analyst will support office staff in managing the institute's infrastructure. The position encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including day-to-day office administration and process management, supplier management, accounts receivable (A/R) and accounts payable (A/P) administration, proposal submissions, staff recruitment, cost accounting, and project budgeting. The Business Analyst will also assist with data collection, data entry, and budget reporting, necessitating a detail-oriented approach and proficiency with software applications. Effective interdepartmental communication is essential, as the analyst will collaborate with various teams to ensure smooth operations within the institute. The Institute for Addiction Science, established in 2018, is one of the first university-wide comprehensive transdisciplinary addiction institutes in the nation. It aims to enhance addiction research and education through collaboration among faculty from different colleges and schools at USC, ultimately improving the lives of those affected by addiction. The hourly rate for this position ranges from $34.43 to $43.59, with compensation determined by factors such as the scope of responsibilities, the candidate's experience, education, skills, and market considerations. Responsibilities

Requirements
