About the position

The Budget Coordinator for the Office of Educational Opportunity Programs, Outreach and Success (EOPOS) at San Diego State University is responsible for overseeing department funds, ensuring fiscal accuracy, and managing financial operations. This role involves accounting, purchasing, and preparing various fiscal forms while serving as a liaison for the office of the Vice President for Student Affairs and Campus Diversity. The position requires interaction with department staff to identify and submit budget requirements, contributing to the financial success of educational programs aimed at supporting underserved and underrepresented students.

Responsibilities

  • Manage department funds, including accounting, purchasing, and preparation of fiscal forms.
  • Assist with annual reporting for various funding sources and programs.
  • Coordinate the processing of personnel records for full-time staff and student employees.
  • Identify and track salary savings, position conversions, and prepare reports on salary commitments and savings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Mid-level administrative experience.
  • Strong analysis skills and organizational skills.
  • Valid California Driver's License or ability to obtain one within 10 days of hire.
