About the position

A client in the Huntsville area is looking for a Budget Data Analyst to support a federal customer. The Budget Data Analyst will be responsible for providing data-driven insights and analytical support. This role involves analyzing large datasets, preparing budget reports, monitoring expenditures, and developing data models to assist in strategic financial planning and budget analysis. The Data Analyst will work closely with various military and civilian departments to ensure data integrity, optimize resource allocation, and enhance decision-making processes through advanced data analytics. This individual must be willing to travel to Germany 3-4 weeks out of the year.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large datasets to provide insights and support for budget-related decisions.
• Prepare comprehensive budget reports for review and analysis.
• Monitor expenditures to ensure compliance with budgetary constraints.
• Develop data models to assist in strategic financial planning and budget analysis.
• Collaborate with military and civilian departments to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
• Optimize resource allocation through advanced data analytics.
• Enhance decision-making processes by providing analytical support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Finance, Economics, Statistics or a related field.
• Proficiency in data analytics tools and software (i.e SQL, Python, R, Tableau, PowerBI, Excel, MS Access).
• Knowledge of Army and DoD financial regulations.
• 4+ years of experience using GFEBS, CRIS or DEAMS.
• Relevant Certifications (i.e Certified Government Financial Manager, Certified Defense Financial Manager).
• Experience with Army budgeting processes, financial reporting, and resource allocation.
• Previous experience in a data analytics or budget analysis role within the military or government sector.
