About the position

St. Michael's is hiring a Journeyman Budget/Financial Analyst to support a Department of Defense client. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and processing financial management operations through various execution, oversight, audit, and investigative processes. Your primary focus will be to identify and develop corrective actions for management control issues. This position is client-facing, and your previous experience with military pay, travel, and accounts payable systems and procedures will be invaluable. Teamwork is a core value at St. Michael's, and you will be supporting a larger team to ensure that obligations and expenditures are executed in accordance with pertinent laws and regulations. The position is located at Fort Belvoir, VA, and is 100% on-site. You will be expected to leverage your expertise in DoD finance and accounting systems and automated tools to assist in analyzing, providing advice, and coordinating required actions on Special Operations Forces (SOF) mission activities, operational and logistics issues with funding implications for the United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC). Additionally, you will assist with tracking, monitoring, and funding execution of USASOC's participation in specified SOF mission activities, ensuring that funding is managed effectively and that support is provided to SOF activities and their designated Executive Agents.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and process financial management operations through execution, oversight, audit, and investigative processes.
  • Identify and develop corrective actions for management control issues.
  • Assist in analyzing, providing advice and recommendations on SOF mission activities with funding implications.
  • Coordinate required actions on operational and logistics issues related to funding for USASOC.
  • Track, monitor, and manage funding execution of USASOC's participation in specified SOF mission activities.
  • Support the monitoring and tracking of funding and ensure support is provided to SOF activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and 10 years' PPBE experience OR 20 years' PPBE experience without a degree.
  • Experience with DoD finance and accounting systems and automated tools.
  • Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.
