The Budget & Financial Analyst position at Indiana University Bloomington is a critical role within the University Budget Office, responsible for analyzing budget requests and making recommendations for budgetary requirements across campus or large Responsibility Centers (RC). This position involves providing essential information and recommendations to university officials and finance administrators regarding various phases of budget preparation and presentation. The analyst will perform continuous budgetary control on a campus-wide, large RC, or University-wide basis, ensuring that all budget proposals are complete, accurate, and compliant with relevant laws and internal policies. In addition to analyzing and preparing financial data to assess past performance and project future financial outcomes, the analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop large-scale annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-term financial plans. The role requires the preparation of strategic scenarios to anticipate various outcomes based on different assumptions, as well as the creation of variance analysis reports to compare actual performance against budgeted figures. The analyst will also build and maintain financial models to support decision-making, focusing on forecasting, cost analysis, and capital expenditures.
