The Budget/Purchasing Analyst position at State Technical College of Missouri involves managing and analyzing the college's budget and financial activities. Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparing budgets
  • Review and analyze actual expenses compared to budgeted expenses
  • Manage and reconcile fixed asset tracking, including additions, disposals, and maintaining inventory accuracy
  • Reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounts
  • Prepare journal entries to general ledger for complex transactions
  • Assist with and oversee processing Accounts Payable
  • Assist in preparing annual and monthly financial statements
  • Assist with all College and Foundation audit activity
  • Analyze and reconcile expenditure and revenue accounts for accuracy
  • Prepare billings as needed
  • Perform other related duties as needed or assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Work experience in accounting practices and principles
  • Knowledge of fund or governmental accounting practices
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions and correspondence
  • Strong written communication skills in English
  • Ability to present information effectively in small group situations
  • Proficiency in basic arithmetic and accounting principles
  • Ability to use various software products efficiently
  • Superior typing and computer operation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and human relations skills
  • Organizational abilities
  • Ability to work as a team member and independently
  • Problem-solving skills and critical evaluation of information
