The Budget/Purchasing Analyst position at State Technical College of Missouri involves managing and analyzing the college's budget and financial activities. The analyst will work closely with various departments to prepare financial statements and assist with audits, contributing to the overall financial health of the institution.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing budgets
• Review and analyze actual expenses compared to budgeted expenses
• Manage and reconcile fixed asset tracking, including additions, disposals, and maintaining inventory accuracy
• Reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounts
• Prepare journal entries to general ledger for complex transactions
• Assist with and oversee processing Accounts Payable
• Assist in preparing annual and monthly financial statements
• Assist with all College and Foundation audit activity
• Analyze and reconcile expenditure and revenue accounts for accuracy
• Prepare billings as needed
• Perform other related duties as needed or assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required
• Work experience in accounting practices and principles
• Knowledge of fund or governmental accounting practices
• Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions and correspondence
• Strong written communication skills in English
• Ability to present information effectively in small group situations
• Proficiency in basic arithmetic and accounting principles
• Ability to use various software products efficiently
• Superior typing and computer operation skills
• Strong interpersonal and human relations skills
• Organizational abilities
