About the position

The City of Chandler Management Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Budget & Research Associate Analyst. This full-time position is scheduled to work Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Budget Division, which consists of 7 full-time equivalents (FTE), is responsible for the day-to-day budgeting needs and the entity-wide budgeting of operating and capital budgets. This division also provides timely financial information to the public, bondholders, grantors, auditors, City Council, and City Management. As a Budget & Research Associate Analyst, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the enterprise-wide process of preparing and administering the City's annual operating and capital budgets. This includes following up with departments and others on budgetary due dates and deliverables, conducting independent research, and developing presentation materials and reports. You will also be responsible for preparing and analyzing the annual surveys for internal feedback and external resident participation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration, along with great attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Public or Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1 year of experience in performing city-wide governmental budgeting and research activities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Workiva, Questica, JotForms, Oracle ERP, and Adobe Pro software.
