About the position

The Budget Specialist II position at the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy involves providing professional support to the Fiscal Manager in the formulation, monitoring, and execution of the agency's budget. The role requires a detail-oriented, self-motivated individual who can thrive in a fast-paced work environment and work collaboratively with others.

Responsibilities

• Monitor budgeted to actual expenses for all agency work units and fund types.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual expenditure reports.
• Analyze and reconcile monthly revenue transfers and prepare monthly reports.
• Participate in the development and preparation of the agency biennial budget request.
• Assist with the financial activity and reporting for federal grants and assure adherence to awarding agency's rules and regulations.
• Process payments within eMars for goods, services and payments against contracts.
• Research payments, communicate with vendors, and utilize eMars reporting tools.
• Serve as the Agency's Fleet Management Coordinator.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
• Three years of professional experience in budget administration, financial analysis and/or forecasting, statistical analysis, accounting, financial auditing, or a related field.
