About the position

The Budget Support Specialist position at the National Asian Pacific Center on Aging (NAPCA) is designed for candidates aged 55 and older, focusing on supporting the U.S. EPA's Office of Environmental Justice and External Civil Rights. This role involves managing budget-related tasks, preparing reports, and providing excellent customer service within a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares weekly Status of Funds Report(s) and related funds data requests.
  • Prepares Excel spreadsheets pertaining to other resource tracking activities such as Open Travel, Open Commitments, CDW Orphan Reports and DCR Validation Reports, Unliquidated Obligations, etc.
  • Provides excellent customer service and follow-up to management and staff in tracking the status of funding transactions.
  • Maintains and manages electronic filing of funding transaction records for the division.
  • Manages multiple agency systems by preparing and processing travel documents, procurement requests, scheduling, and training forms.
  • Assists in management of the office employee move coordination efforts, staff onboarding management, etc.
  • Completes other special program-specific projects and duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 55 years of age (in accordance with Public Law 98-313 and the Older American Workers Act)
  • US citizen
  • Be eligible to work in the US
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and budgeting systems (to be learned on the job)
