About the position

The Build and Release/DevOps Engineer role at Strategic Staffing Solutions involves working within the Customer Relationship and Billing department to enhance software deployment processes. The position focuses on continuous integration and deployment, ensuring customer satisfaction through effective software management and automation. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline application deployment and maintain a stable software environment.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, build, deploy, and manage continuous integration of application software across various technologies.
  • Collaborate with application teams, solution architects, and leadership to manage the software landscape.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to ensure a stable and up-to-date software platform.
  • Manage the movement of application code throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Build, program, and manage production and non-production deployments using continuous integration tools like Jenkins.
  • Automate internal deployments and manage software libraries using SCM tools such as Clearcase and Git.
  • Plan, manage, and coordinate changes to both Production and Non-Production environments.
  • Deploy web-based applications using Middleware technologies like Apache, MQ Series, WebLogic, and WebSphere servers.
  • Create and manage Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines.
  • Monitor applications using tools like Dynatrace and Nagios for performance management.

Requirements

  • Experience with Jenkins for continuous integration and deployment.
  • Proficiency in SCM tools such as Clearcase and Git.
  • Strong understanding of multiple application platforms including J2EE, ESB, and SAP.
  • Experience in managing build tools and servers, particularly Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, and RDS.
  • Ability to create deployment automation scripts for .Net and Java/J2EE applications.
  • Familiarity with Linux servers for staging codes in production and non-production environments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with IBM Rational Clearcase Explorer and Active Control.
  • Knowledge of mobile application deployment for Android and iOS.
  • Familiarity with creating various testing environments such as Unit Test, Acceptance Test, and User Acceptance Test.
