About the position

Cornerstone Mortgage Company is seeking an experienced Licensed Loan Officer to join our dedicated team of mortgage professionals. As a Licensed Loan Officer, you will play a crucial role in promoting and selling our loan products and services to potential customers, ensuring an accurate and timely closing process. You will work in a tight-knit, goal-oriented team where our Customers and Referral Partners can rely on your expertise and commitment to excellence. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing client relationships, and identifying service and sales needs. You will respond to customer inquiries and referrals generated from your contacts, conduct interviews with prospective borrowers to analyze their financial and credit data, and negotiate rates and terms. Additionally, you will define and manage customer loan process expectations, monitor and manage workflow to ensure timely closing, and maintain product knowledge while staying updated on changes to market conditions. Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to residential mortgage lending is also a key aspect of this position. To be successful in this role, you will need strong time management skills, organization, and a positive attitude. A minimum of 2 years of experience in the mortgage industry is required, along with a clear understanding of the residential mortgage loan process from application through fulfillment. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred. You must also be appropriately licensed or able to gain a license within 60 days of your start date. Excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and problem-solving skills are essential for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the mortgage industry with a clear understanding of residential mortgage loan process from application through fulfillment
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
  • Must be appropriately licensed (or be able to gain license within 60 days of start date) by the applicable regulator in each state in which he/she does licensee activities
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills required
