About the position

The Building and Grounds Superintendent is responsible for the planning, coordination, administration, organization, cleaning, and maintenance of all facilities and grounds within the Ozark Parks and Recreation system. This role involves supervising staff, managing budgets, ensuring safety standards, and promoting recreational activities for the community. The Superintendent will also be on call for emergencies and will oversee the training and performance evaluation of maintenance staff.

Responsibilities

• Plan, market, implement, supervise, and evaluate maintenance efforts in facilities of Ozark Parks and Recreation.
• Implement a Maintenance Plan to address current and future maintenance needs.
• Maintain budgets for custodial needs and city facilities.
• Coordinate with the Director for budgeting, bids, grants, and statistical reports.
• Be on call for issues that arise in City facilities and grounds on a rotating basis.
• Design and implement a training system for facilities and grounds staff.
• Evaluate staff performance and conduct ongoing training sessions.
• Supervise Facility Maintenance Technicians, Park Maintenance Lead, and Custodial Coordinator.
• Maintain safety and upkeep of all park and recreation facilities.
• Communicate with parents and patrons to ensure satisfaction and safety.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience in a supervisory role is required.
• Experience in plumbing, construction, electrical, and/or project management is necessary.
• Knowledge of standard maintenance and cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge of pool maintenance and current CPO or AFO policies.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in project management.
• Knowledge of modern office practices and standard English; basic math calculations.
