About the position

The Building and Grounds Technician at DISH is responsible for providing facilities-related support for various events and ensuring the proper operation and maintenance of the company's facilities and mechanical equipment. This role is essential for maintaining a safe and functional work environment, supporting engineering projects, and assisting with office reconfigurations and moves.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily site inspections of the facilities and mechanical equipment to ensure proper operation and condition
• Perform preventive maintenance to building systems and equipment as assigned
• Provide a report to the Facilities manager notifying any problems found
• Perform basic electrical repairs, such as replacing lamps, ballasts, switches, receptacles, cord caps
• Provide support to engineering projects and installations
• Assist in office furniture reconfigurations, furniture moves, and office moves as requested
• Respond to after-hours emergency requests as needed

Requirements

• 3-5 years of related experience with general maintenance procedures such as basic building and grounds preventative maintenance
• Basic but proven experience with a variety of trades in the maintenance of commercial office space
• Strong knowledge of safe work practices and procedures typical for maintenance operations
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to work successfully in a team environment with limited resources
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle and obtain a driver's license

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with dock locks, overhead garage doors, dock levelers
• Experience with operating a forklift
• CDL endorsement
• Experience with preventative maintenance routines
• Experience with CCTV/building security
• General experience with Google Suite/basic computer skills
