Due to growth in 2025, we are searching for future Building Automation Controls Specialists (all levels) for both Service and New Construction projects throughout the Northeast US! Our Systems Specialists participate in the installation, startup, and commissioning of building automation system equipment that has been newly installed and supports the verification of the system database and programming, ensuring consistency with the scope of work and sequence of operations. Our Service Specialists perform service-related tasks on building automation systems already installed, which include service agreement maintenance, projects, and on-call & emergency service. Responsibilities

  • Commission new distributed digital control systems on construction sites within planned timelines; document commissioning details and communicate deficiencies and progress
  • Manage network technologies: assists with data back-up from data servers and the creation of automated back-up procedures, supports troubleshooting and resolution of inconsistencies in the functions or sequence of operations, and assists with the set-up and configuration of PC workstations and user interfaces
  • Support the confirmation of proper network performance
  • Manage operational testing, verification, and acceptance: runs routine reports to review system operation, participates in final inspection and testing, supports customer acceptance, assists with customer training on system operations
  • Complete and submit routine written reports; provide plans and control system documents to engineering for as-built drawings
  • Manage project site communication and coordination: may support others in the scheduling of trade contractors to coordinate startup services; submits accurate time and expense reports
  • Work overtime when needed (compressed schedule performance can be a factor and will require extended hours to meet commitments)
  • Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures; ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our customers
  • Execute digitalization and standard service operations strategies
  • Work with multiple internal service team members including Service Sales, Client Service Managers, Service Coordinators, and RAM Digital Service Center personnel
  • Follow safety requirements as outlined by Siemens and customers and successfully completes assigned training as outlined in the training path
  • Follow mandatory policies, procedures, and standards, may coordinate with contractors on job sites, maintains tools and test equipment
  • Support after hours during on-call rotation, responds to service calls (emergency and on-site) as assigned; perform repairs as directed on all automation system types
  • Complete service ticket documentation per the policy, follow and maintain preventive maintenance schedules
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of services performed and generates reports within Siemens tools
  • Provide instructions to customer personnel regarding proper system operations and assists with training
  • Identify and reports system discrepancies, suggests system upgrade opportunities, and may assist in pricing of repairs and upgrades to existing agreement and performs system checkout and startup on projects
  • Work rotational on-call and/or minimal overnight travel
  • Participate in job site final walk and/or final completion for systems-to-service turnover on assigned jobs performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Entry-level Specialists: Electro-mechanical experience (either in a previous role, through education or military) and user PC/software skills
  • Mid-level Specialists: 2+ years' experience installing and/or servicing HVAC controls and/or building automation controls
  • Senior-level Specialists: 5+ years' experience installing, servicing, and commissioning HVAC controls and/or building automation controls
  • Experience reading, understanding, and interpreting design and construction documents
  • Ability and willingness to work in a variety of circumstances including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high lift equipment, working in ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, above ceilings, and in various conditions
  • Must be able and willing to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet as well as carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed
  • For Service positions: must be willing to participate in an on-call rotation with other Specialists, to include nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens vehicle program
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Nice-to-haves

  • High school diploma, Associate or Bachelor's Degree in related technical field
  • 3+ years' experience installing and servicing HVAC controls or building automation controls

  • The pay range for this position is $53,000 - $111,000 / year. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
