About the position

The BAS Programmer/Technician will play a crucial role in the installation, programming, start-up, troubleshooting, commissioning, and servicing of Direct Digital Control (DDC) building automation systems. This position is integral to ensuring that HVAC systems operate efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall success of projects. The individual will work collaboratively as part of a team, engaging with customers, contractors, engineers, and fellow team members to deliver high-quality service and support. Clear communication is essential, as the role involves explaining technical concepts and providing guidance to various stakeholders. In addition to technical skills, the BAS Programmer/Technician will manage installation subcontractors during the construction phase of projects, ensuring that timelines are met and that work is completed to specifications. The role requires the creation of software programs and animated front-end graphics, as well as conducting checkout, start-up, and commissioning activities on projects. The technician will analyze problems and resolve issues to ensure that the complete system functions properly, demonstrating a proactive approach to troubleshooting. The position also involves performing service repairs, adjustments, and calibrations on building systems, as well as coordinating customer training and completing closeout documents. Providing technical support and direction to end-users and employees is a key aspect of the role, ensuring that all parties are equipped to operate and maintain the systems effectively. Responsibilities

  • Manage installation subcontractor during construction phase of project to keep them on track and on schedule.
  • Creation of software programs and animated front end graphics.
  • Checkout, start-up and commissioning on projects.
  • Analyze problems and resolve issues to ensure the complete system functions properly.
  • Perform service repairs, adjustments and calibration on building systems.
  • Coordinate customer-training and complete closeout documents.
  • Provide technical support and direction to end-users and employees when applicable.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience with DDC Building Automation Systems, BACnet, Siemens Apogee.
  • Proficient in reading wiring diagrams.
  • Both written and verbal communication skills a must.
  • Proficient with IP networks.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving history.

Nice-to-haves

  • Some flexibility to work overtime/weekends.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
