About the position

The Building Automation Service Specialist at Siemens is responsible for executing service operations on automation systems, including maintenance, project work, and emergency service calls. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient, safe, and sustainable building environments, while also providing customer support and training. The specialist will work closely with various internal teams and must adhere to safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Execute digitalization and standard service operations strategies.
  • Work with internal service team members including Service Sales, Client Service Managers, and Service Coordinators.
  • Follow safety requirements and complete assigned training.
  • Support after hours during on-call rotation and respond to service calls.
  • Complete service ticket documentation and maintain preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Provide instructions to customer personnel regarding system operations and assist with training.
  • Identify and report system discrepancies and suggest upgrade opportunities.
  • Participate in job site final walk and/or final completion for systems-to-service turnover.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated electro-mechanical aptitude and user PC/software skills.
  • Ability to work in various circumstances, including climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to use hand tools and carry equipment weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted.
  • Specialized skill training and/or certification with Tridium Niagara 4 TCP.
  • 1+ years experience installing and servicing electronic control or HVAC equipment.
  • 3-5+ years hands-on experience with Tridium or Tridium Niagara 4 TCP.
  • Knowledge of building automation systems, PLCs, HVAC, electrical concepts, and building operations.
  • Engineering and programming background (PLC or BMS).
  • Knowledge of building system communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED.
