About the position

The Building Automation Service Specialist at Siemens is responsible for performing maintenance and service tasks on automation systems, ensuring efficient and sustainable building operations. This role involves responding to service calls, executing service agreements, and providing customer support while adhering to safety and operational standards. The specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing customer satisfaction and promoting energy efficiency through their expertise in building automation systems.

Responsibilities

  • Execute digitalization and standard service operations strategies.
  • Work with multiple internal service team members including Service Sales, Client Service Managers, Service Coordinators, and RAM Digital Service Center personnel.
  • Follow safety requirements as outlined by Siemens and customers and successfully complete assigned training as outlined in the training path.
  • Support after hours during on-call rotation, responding to service calls (emergency and on-site) as assigned.
  • Perform repairs as directed on all automation system types.
  • Complete service ticket documentation per policy and maintain preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of services performed and generate reports within Siemens tools.
  • Provide instructions to customer personnel regarding proper system operations and assist with training.
  • Identify and report system discrepancies, suggest system upgrade opportunities, and assist in pricing of repairs and upgrades to existing agreements.
  • Participate in job site final walk and/or final completion for systems-to-service turnover on assigned jobs.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated electro-mechanical aptitude based on previous experience and/or education.
  • Ability to work in a variety of circumstances, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high lift equipment, and working in ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, above ceilings, and in various conditions.
  • Must be able to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet, and carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted.
  • Specialized skill training and/or certification with Tridium Niagara 4 TCP.
  • 1+ years experience installing and servicing electronic control or HVAC equipment.
  • 3-5+ years hands-on experience working with Tridium or Tridium Niagara 4 TCP.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of building automation systems, PLCs, HVAC, electrical concepts, and building operations.
  • Demonstrated engineering and programming (PLC or BMS) background.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of building system communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP).
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
