About the position

As a Building Automation Solutions Operations Supervisor at Siemens, you will lead a team of installation specialists and commissioning technicians responsible for building automation systems in new construction projects. Your role is crucial in ensuring the success of these projects by coordinating activities, providing technical support, and maintaining customer satisfaction. You will supervise, train, and mentor your team, manage project schedules, and ensure that all work meets specifications and budgetary constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and mentor the System Specialist team; set goals, monitor performance, conduct employee review meetings, and schedule formal training.
  • Guide and support the team on planning and managing construction projects through completion.
  • Schedule and assign installation and commissioning tasks to the team and ensure schedules are maintained and projects proceed according to plans, job specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Maintain and improve planned and booked margins for technical support programs.
  • Direct and supervise the development and use of project plans in monitoring and controlling the execution of work.
  • Review customer feedback and ensure customer retention and account growth goals are achieved.
  • Maintain relationships between sales, engineering, and execution teams to manage changes and discrepancies.
  • Accountable for the profit and loss of projects assigned to the operations team.
  • Support project profitability through cost-containment procedures and processes.
  • Travel between branch locations as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED.
  • On-the-job experience with HVAC System Automation/Building Automation Controls including knowledge of design, startup, programming, integration, documentation, and commissioning.
  • Experience in training, mentoring, scheduling, and supervising employees responsible for System Automation/Building Automation startup.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 15%.
  • Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in training, mentoring, scheduling, and supervising employees responsible for System Automation/Building Automation startup.
  • 5+ years' experience in engineering or project management.
