About the position

The Sales Manager for the Building Automation Construction Sales team at Siemens is responsible for managing one of the largest growth opportunities in the Chicago area. This role involves driving sales teams to achieve business goals, fostering strong customer relationships, and ensuring the delivery of quality products and services. The Sales Manager will coordinate engineering and sales support activities, develop sales forecasts, and strategize to maximize market impact while maintaining ongoing contacts with key accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Promote team selling and expand existing relationships across divisions and geographic areas.
  • Coordinate engineering and sales support activities to facilitate quality product offerings.
  • Act as a resource to sales employees regarding products, applications, and services.
  • Drive sales employees to achieve commitment to Siemens Smart Infrastructure's philosophy and customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate goals, provide coaching, manage employee performance, and conduct performance appraisals.
  • Review bidding for accuracy and appropriateness to meet company and customer objectives.
  • Assist employees in determining margins and assessing future business potential.
  • Network with regional and corporate teams to increase knowledge of offerings and best practices.
  • Develop sales forecasts and provide input to budget.
  • Identify market opportunities and develop strategies to maximize business impact.
  • Participate in long-range sales planning and growth strategies.
  • Maintain trade contacts and participate in industry functions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or state-recognized GED.
  • 8+ years of sales experience including 2+ years managing sales teams in the Building Automation industry.
  • Demonstrated presentation, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 15% of the time.
  • Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
