About the position

HTS Engineering Ltd. is the largest independent commercial HVAC manufacturers' representative in North America, with 20 locations across the US and Canada. The company is committed to ensuring the individual success of all stakeholders involved in a project's HVAC system selection, design, purchase, installation, and maintenance. The Building Automation System Account Executive will play a crucial role in this process, focusing on generating revenue through market development, lead generation, qualification, and closing sales. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying market potential and building strong relationships with clients, including A/E, contractors, and end-users. The Account Executive will initiate the sales process by scheduling appointments and making initial presentations to understand account requirements. They will be responsible for closing sales by building rapport with potential accounts, explaining product and service capabilities, overcoming objections, and preparing contracts. Additionally, the role involves expanding sales within existing accounts by introducing new products and services and developing new applications. The Account Executive will also contribute to market strategy by monitoring competitive products and gathering feedback from accounts. This position is ideal for candidates with a strong background in outside sales, particularly in Building Automation Systems, DDC Controls, Lighting Controls, and Energy Management Systems. Responsibilities

  • Identifies market potential by qualifying accounts
  • Initiates sales process by scheduling appointments and making initial presentations
  • Closes sales by building rapport with potential accounts and explaining product capabilities
  • Expands sales in existing accounts by introducing new products and services
  • Contributes information to market strategy by monitoring competitive products
  • Recommends new products and services by evaluating current product results
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
  • Develops high-level relationships within A/E, Contractor, and End-user accounts to win incremental business

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a similar field
  • 3-5 years of outside sales experience selling Building Automation Systems
  • Experience in HVAC, Construction, or Service Industry
  • Record of successfully achieving or exceeding sales quotas
  • Excellent cold-calling and relationship-building skills
  • Understanding of Tridium & Distech Controls is preferred
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

Nice-to-haves

  • LEED GA/AP, CEM, FE, or PE credentials
  • Previous experience with sales to Consulting Engineers, Mechanical Contractors, and Owners
