About the position

As a Building Automation System Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the operation and maintenance of all building automation systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and cost-effectively. This position is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function, where you will be responsible for supporting preventive maintenance and repairing various equipment and systems. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining a total facilities systems management program, which encompasses all connected and separate electrical, mechanical, life, and safety systems operational within a facility. You will be expected to adhere to all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives regarding system operations and work safety. Regular inspections of systems will be part of your duties to ensure that equipment operates within design capabilities and meets the operational conditions prescribed by clients. You will lead all aspects of scope development, work request initiation, scheduling, and inspection of work performed by outside contractors, including proprietary work, licensed installations, upgrades, and maintenance of specialized systems. In emergency situations, your ability to respond quickly and summon assistance will be critical. You will review assigned work orders, estimate time and resources, and order necessary materials to complete repairs. Performing assigned repairs and preventive maintenance, as well as completing maintenance and repair records, will be part of your responsibilities. You will also participate in various programs and activities, including incident investigations and audits, and report any conditions that could lead to accidents or injuries. Your role will involve mentoring others and sharing your in-depth knowledge of your job discipline while modeling behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values. Overall, your impact will extend across customer, operational, project, or service activities within your team and related teams, working within broad guidelines and policies to explain complex information effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a total facilities systems management program for all operational systems.
  • Follow applicable codes, regulations, and company directives regarding system operations and safety.
  • Inspect systems to ensure equipment operates within design capabilities and meets client operational conditions.

  • Participate in incident investigations, audits, and assessments as required.
  • Report conditions that could result in accidents or injuries and stop work if necessary.
  • Mentor others and share knowledge of job disciplines within the function.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience preferred.
  • Licenses or certifications as required by local law or ordinance are preferred.
  • Prior shift leader or supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs or more.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive approach.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on analysis of multiple information sources.
  • Willingness to consider new perspectives on existing solutions.
