About the position

As a Building Automation System Engineer at Comfort Systems USA Southeast, you will play a crucial role in programming, developing, commissioning, and implementing Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems and other building automation technologies primarily associated with HVAC systems in commercial buildings. This position offers a remote opportunity, allowing you to work from home while contributing to the creation of smarter and safer buildings. You will be responsible for ensuring that building automation systems are effectively integrated and maintained, providing a single point of contact for various building needs including automation, security, and lighting. In this role, you will perform a variety of tasks including programming, documenting, training, and maintaining building automation systems. You will work with complex networks and multi-vendor system integration, utilizing open technologies and software-based interfaces. Your expertise will be essential in developing programs and graphical user interfaces, as well as commissioning building automation systems that support a wide range of software and subsystems, from simple to complex in nature. You will be expected to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, assisting with additional projects as needed while identifying and managing priorities with minimal guidance. Attention to detail in programming and graphical user interfaces, along with effective communication skills, will be critical to your success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Perform programming, documenting, training, and maintaining building automation systems.
  • Work with complex networks, multi-vendor system integration, and open technologies.
  • Develop programs and graphical user interfaces for building automation systems.
  • Commission building automation systems and support a wide range of software and subsystems.
  • Execute multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while managing priorities with minimal guidance.
  • Uphold company values and maintain a high standard of conduct.
  • Demonstrate a high level of detail in programming and effective communication.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in the industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Tridium Niagara 4 Certification preferred with a strong understanding of the 'Station Building' process.
  • Experience with Delta Controls products/programming is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Create programs to control equipment based on provided sequences.
  • Understanding of networks, VPNs, and competent computer troubleshooting.
  • General IT knowledge including virtual machines, remote desktop, servers, routers, ports, and encryption/SSL.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with sound judgment in complex situations.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter able to work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision.
