About the position

The Engineer at JLL is responsible for monitoring the alarm status of various automation systems, including Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Fire Systems. This role involves entering work orders related to system and equipment issues, coordinating with technicians, and maintaining logs of alarms and critical activities. The Engineer will also support the Hard Services team in maintaining system operating parameters and ensuring a safe work environment. This position requires regular attendance and engagement with various personnel to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor alarm status of various automation systems including BAS and Fire Systems.
• Enter work orders related to system and equipment problems into the CMMS system.
• Coordinate with work order execution personnel to resolve issues.
• Log and collect all lockout/tagout information as required.
• Maintain a logbook detailing all alarms and critical activities during shifts.
• Support HVAC Supervisor and other personnel during commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
• Ensure transparent transition between site and regional monitoring where applicable.
• Engage with BAS technicians, mechanics, and electricians to restore failed systems to service.

Requirements

• High School diploma; Trade school certification or degree is a plus.
• General understanding of building automation systems, especially Siemens, Honeywell, and JCI.
• Knowledge of basic HVAC equipment and its control in an industrial/commercial environment.
• Working knowledge of automation system architecture and communication architecture.
• Detailed knowledge and experience with Excel and Word software programs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with maintenance personnel and clients.
• Ability to remain calm during multiple alarm situations and learn new concepts quickly.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with BAS systems such as Schneider and Siemens.
• Familiarity with fume hood alarms and their monitoring via BAS systems.
