Commissioning Technicians participate in the estimating, tracking, start up and commission of projects, and will be the customer interface for all technical requirements of assigned projects. You will provide expertise and knowledge throughout the system or service project lifecycle on customer sites. Why is this so important? Our Commissioning Technician's technical expertise, project oversight, and customer interaction contribute to efficient project execution, satisfied clients, and optimized long-term performance of systems. As a Commissioning Technician, you will analyze plans, construction contract specifications, and owner standards to determine project requirements and risks. You will attend pre-booking meetings to gain knowledge of the sales estimate and project scope. You will analyze plans, specifications, and contract details to provide input to the estimating team such that the most economical method for having systems installed and delivered is incorporated in the design. You will participate in sales to operations turnover meetings to evaluate the accuracy of sales estimates and job layouts. You will also participate in project manager to engineer turnover meetings, making recommendations to the design team related to productivity improvement and cost reduction to increase customer satisfaction and increase profitability of jobs. You will perform Quality Assurance peer review of engineering documents created by NOC/GOC to ensure they align with customer engineering standards. These documents include, but are not limited to: drawings, specifications, and submittals. You will design small or medium sized building automation systems consisting of mechanical system layouts, electrical drawings, bills of materials, sequences of operations, valve and damper schedules, and DDC panel layouts to meet the intent of project plans, specifications, and contract documents. You will lead technical effort for design-build opportunities without plans or specifications, including controls takeovers. You will design network architecture to support operator workstations, DDC field panels, and third-party integration devices connected through Ethernet, Siemens P2, Modbus or BACNET. You will create automation system databases and job-related programming for computer-based building control systems. You will oversee the creation of system graphics, troubleshoot issues, including identifying and debugging software, and diagnosing electrical or pneumatic installation problems. You will organize and maintain job documentation, including local templates and standards for design, database and graphics. You will provide on-site assistance with or perform programming, start-up, checkout, commissioning, and validation processes. You will participate in job site final walk-through, complete all job closeout documentation, and provide customer training. Finally, you will act as the local lead technical resource to project managers, sales, customers and field specialists.
