About the position

WSP is seeking an experienced Building Automation Systems Engineer to join the Property & Buildings team in Boulder, CO. This role involves collaborating with architects, owners, and various teams to promote sustainability and resilience in large-scale projects. The engineer will participate in the entire project lifecycle, from design to construction close-out, and will be responsible for integrating intelligent technologies in smart building projects across public and private sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with Building Automation Systems projects and designs, collecting and analyzing data from various sources.
  • Conduct research and inspections of site conditions and equipment to ensure compliance with standards and codes.
  • Develop technology and design requirements for smart building systems.
  • Verify site characteristics and provide technical assistance on design and installation issues.
  • Write technical reports summarizing research findings and specifications.
  • Assist project managers with risk identification and assessment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project execution.
  • Prepare work plans and coordinate field/site work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a closely related discipline.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in Building Automation Systems.
  • Familiarity with building technology principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of building planning, design, and installation management.
  • Understanding of smart building design and relevant laws and codes.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic proficiency with technical writing and design software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD).
