About the position

As a Systems Specialist at Siemens, you will play a crucial role in the installation, startup, and commissioning of building automation systems. This position focuses on ensuring the proper functioning of newly installed equipment, verifying system databases, and maintaining consistency with project specifications. Your expertise will directly impact energy savings and contribute to a sustainable future, making you the face of Siemens in customer interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Commission new distributed digital control systems on construction sites within planned timelines.
  • Document commissioning details and communicate deficiencies and progress.
  • Plan work with Lead Technician and Team Leader.
  • Assist with data backup from data servers and create automated backup procedures.
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of inconsistencies in functions or sequence of operations.
  • Assist with the setup and configuration of PC workstations and user interfaces.
  • Support the confirmation of proper network performance.
  • Run routine reports to review system operation and participate in final inspection and testing.
  • Support customer acceptance and assist with customer training on system operations.
  • Complete and submit routine written reports and provide plans and control system documents to engineering for as-built drawings.
  • Support scheduling of trade contractors to coordinate startup services and submit accurate time and expense reports.
  • Work overtime when needed and adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • 1+ years' experience in Building Automation installing and servicing electronic control or HVAC equipment.
  • Electro-mechanical experience and user PC/software skills.
  • On-the-job experience reading, understanding, and interpreting design and construction documents.
  • Ability and willingness to work in various circumstances including climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
  • Must be able and willing to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet, and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate or Bachelor's degree in electronics, mechanical engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of BAU experience.
