About the position

The Building Automation Systems Specialist at Siemens is responsible for the installation, startup, and commissioning of building automation systems. This role is crucial in ensuring that newly installed systems operate efficiently and meet customer expectations, contributing to energy savings and sustainability. The position involves regular customer interaction and requires a blend of technical skills and customer service to support the verification of system databases and programming.

Responsibilities

  • Commission new distributed digital control systems on construction sites within planned timelines.
  • Document commissioning details and communicate deficiencies and progress.
  • Assist with data backup from data servers and create automated backup procedures.
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of inconsistencies in functions or sequence of operations.
  • Assist with the setup and configuration of PC workstations and user interfaces.
  • Run routine reports to review system operation and participate in final inspection and testing.
  • Support customer acceptance and assist with customer training on system operations.
  • Complete and submit routine written reports and provide plans and control system documents to engineering for as-built drawings.
  • Support scheduling of trade contractors to coordinate startup services and submit accurate time and expense reports.
  • Work overtime when needed and adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies.

Requirements

  • Experience installing and servicing electronic control or HVAC equipment (0+ years for entry level, 1+ years for mid-level).
  • Electro-mechanical experience and user PC/software skills.
  • On-the-job experience reading, understanding, and interpreting design and construction documents.
  • Ability to work in various circumstances including climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to use hand tools, laptops, and carry equipment weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
