The role of a Building Automation Systems Specialist is crucial as it involves the installation, startup, and commissioning of building automation system equipment in large commercial buildings such as hospitals, universities, and industrial facilities. This position is not just about improving buildings; it’s about creating perfect places that enhance people's lives. As a Systems Specialist, you will be the face of Siemens, interacting regularly with customers to help them save energy and money while contributing to a more sustainable future. In this role, you will ensure system database and programming verification, maintain consistency with the scope of work, and adhere to the sequence of operations. You will assist with data backup from servers, create automated backup procedures, and troubleshoot any functional inconsistencies. Additionally, you will support the setup, configuration, and maintenance of PC workstations and user interfaces, confirming proper network performance and addressing any issues that may arise. Your responsibilities will also include running routine reports to evaluate system operation, participating in final inspections and testing, assisting with customer training, and completing written reports. Collaboration with others to schedule trade contractors for coordinating startup services and providing necessary plans and control system documents for as-built drawings will also be part of your daily tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure system database and programming verification, consistency with scope of work, and adherence to sequence of operations.
  • Assist with data backup from servers, creating automated backup procedures, and troubleshooting any functional inconsistencies.

Requirements

  • Experience in automation controls, instrumentation or electro-mechanical work settings and/or electro-mechanical aptitude.
  • Entry Level: 6+ months experience; Mid-Level: 2+ years experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a variety of environments in and around mechanical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment, working around ducts, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations.
  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1+ years' experience installing and servicing electronic control or HVAC equipment.
  • 1+ years' experience in reading/interpreting design and construction documents.
  • Certification in Tridium Niagara.
  • Completed technical school program, Associate, Bachelor's Degree.
