About the position

The Building Custodian at Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC) is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment on campus. This full-time position involves various custodial duties, including floor maintenance, cleaning classrooms and laboratories, and ensuring restrooms are stocked with necessary supplies. The role is crucial for the smooth operation of the college and supports a positive, team-oriented atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Perform floor maintenance/custodial duties, including sweeping, shampooing, vacuuming, mopping, stripping and waxing floors.
• Clean and dust equipment in classrooms.
• Clean laboratories and dispose of refuse consistent with special instructions.
• Clean and refill paper products and other materials as required in restrooms, locker rooms, and shower areas.
• Operate custodial equipment.
• Set up special equipment as assigned, including transporting and returning to storage, folding chairs, tables, podiums, draping, etc.
• Assist other departmental crews during special college functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Assist in the college planning and assessment program by developing annual work unit objectives that impact long-range priority goals.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check, drug-screen, physical, and functional capacity exam.
