About the position

As a CBRE Building Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and repairing building system operations across various areas including plumbing, electrical, heating, and cooling. This role is crucial in ensuring that all building systems operate efficiently and comply with applicable standards and regulations. You will also provide support through preventive maintenance and emergency repairs, contributing to the overall safety and functionality of the facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
  • Maintain an energy management program to ensure efficient operation of all systems.
  • Assist with the implementation of a preventive maintenance program to extend the life of building machinery and systems.
  • Perform emergency repairs as needed.
  • Follow departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Review inspections of building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operational compliance.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Coach others and share knowledge of job disciplines within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience.
  • Universal CFC certification is preferred.
  • Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.
  • Prior shift management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role including lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Sophisticated math skills for financial-related calculations.
