About the position

As a CBRE Building Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and repairing building system operations across various areas including plumbing, electrical, heating, and cooling. This role is crucial in ensuring that all building systems operate efficiently and comply with applicable standards and regulations. You will also provide preventive maintenance and emergency repairs, contributing to the overall safety and functionality of the facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
  • Maintain an energy management program to ensure all systems operate efficiently.
  • Assist with the implementation of a preventive maintenance program for building machinery and systems.
  • Perform emergency repairs as needed.
  • Follow departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Review inspection of building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques to accomplish complex assignments.
  • Coach others and share knowledge of job disciplines within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience.
  • Universal CFC certification is preferred.
  • Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.
  • Prior shift management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Meet the physical requirements including lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs or more.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Sophisticated math skills for financial-related calculations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in facility management or building operations.
  • Knowledge of energy management systems.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards.
