About the position

As a Building Engineer at CBRE, you will be responsible for the monitoring, maintenance, and repair of building systems, ensuring optimal performance across various areas such as plumbing, electrical, heating, and cooling. This role is integral to the Engineering and Technical Services function, focusing on preventive maintenance and repairs to enhance the efficiency and safety of building operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
• Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
• Maintain an energy management program to ensure efficient operation of all systems.
• Assist with the implementation of a preventive maintenance program to extend the life of building machinery and systems.
• Perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Follow departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
• Review inspections of building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operational efficiency.
• Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of job disciplines within the function.
• Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience.
• Universal CFC certification is preferred.
• Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.
• Prior shift management or supervisory experience preferred.
• Meet the physical requirements of the role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
• Sophisticated math skills to calculate complex figures.
