About the position
The Building & Grounds Store Returns/Salvage Warehouse position at Harris Teeter involves maintaining cleanliness and organization within the warehouse and surrounding areas. The role is essential for ensuring a safe and efficient working environment by performing various cleaning and maintenance tasks, as well as processing damaged items and recyclables.
Responsibilities
- Cleans warehouse and outside buildings, parking lots, and the property perimeter.
- Mops, sweeps, and scrubs warehouse floors and walls.
- Empties trash cans and bins.
- Cleans offices and restrooms.
- Cleans pick slots and under racking.
- Works safely with approved chemicals and industrial equipment.
- Properly scans and processes damaged orphan cases and reclaim items.
- Processes plastic and cardboard for recycling.
- Follows company policy and safety procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 1 to 3 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to perform basic math operations.
