About the position

The Building Maintenance Engineer is responsible for performing complex preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on buildings, systems, and equipment across multiple locations. This role requires innovative building maintenance skills and the ability to monitor system operations and performance. The engineer will provide leadership supervision to technicians and work collaboratively to resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Review and assign work orders.
• Estimate time and materials needed to complete repairs.
• Order necessary materials and supplies for tasks.
• Use company and client CMMS to review work orders and document completion.
• Inspect building systems including electrical, fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure proper operation.
• Maintain the building lighting system, including repairs or replacements of elements and ballasts.
• Consult with clients to schedule repairs and maintenance to ensure building systems meet their rated life.
• Respond quickly to emergency situations and summon additional assistance as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Possess skills to functionally operate a 'full size' van/truck.
• Licensure as stated by Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
