About the position

The Building Maintenance Person at Pace is responsible for performing scheduled preventative maintenance and minor repairs on various building systems and equipment. This role involves routine cleaning, maintenance, and repairs of facilities, as well as minor lawn care and snow removal. The position requires collaboration with outside contractors and completion of necessary documentation for work performed.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and minor repairs on building systems and equipment including power-operated equipment, hydraulic systems, HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Conduct routine cleaning, painting, maintenance, and repairs of the facility.
• Manage minor lawn care and snow removal tasks along with basic plumbing and electrical repairs.
• Coordinate work projects with Facility Maintenance Specialist and outside contractors.
• Complete all required documents and reports for work performed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• Three years of experience in a comparable field.
• Basic administrative experience.
• Ability to pass the Building Maintenance examination.
• Good work history.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Class B Illinois Commercial Driver's License with airbrake and passenger endorsement.
• Ability to operate all Pace equipment.
• Must have or be able to obtain air conditioning certification, forklift certification, and underground tank certificate.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints, schematics, and maintenance manuals.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of safety regulations in building maintenance.
