The Building Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in supporting the Building Superintendent by performing a variety of general maintenance, repair, and cleaning duties to ensure that all Lincoln County buildings are safe and well-maintained. This position is essential for maintaining the functionality and appearance of the facilities, contributing to a clean and safe environment for all users. The technician will be involved in both interior and exterior maintenance tasks, which include remodeling, sheet rocking, and finish carpentry, ensuring that all work meets safety and quality standards. In addition to maintenance tasks, the technician will be responsible for the installation, dismantling, and moving of various types of office furniture and equipment. This includes repairing and replacing plumbing fixtures, troubleshooting minor electrical issues, and operating a range of equipment such as bobcats, forklifts, lawnmowers, trucks, and snow removal equipment. The role also involves performing grounds maintenance, which includes mowing and trimming lawns and shrubs, picking up debris and trash, and ensuring that sidewalks and entrances are clear of snow during inclement weather. The technician will assist with routine cleaning procedures and floor care, including emptying garbage and replenishing supplies. Security is also a key aspect of this role, as the technician will maintain, repair, and replace institutional locks and electronic security systems, ensuring that all entrances and doors are secure. Continuous learning is encouraged, and the technician will attend classes and seminars to stay updated on safety protocols and new techniques in building maintenance.
