About the position

The Corporate Group is seeking a qualified Building Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance and repair tasks within the property. The role requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in building maintenance, with skills in various trades such as plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry. The technician will be responsible for ongoing inspections, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring the physical condition of the property is maintained to enhance its value.

Responsibilities

• Perform ongoing inspections of the building, including daily walkthroughs for preventative maintenance.
• Schedule and coordinate contractors for HVAC and cooling tower testing as needed.
• Assist the Property Manager with outside vendors and escort contractors as required.
• Conduct building inspections and report findings to management.
• Review proposals from outside contractors to ensure accuracy and make recommendations.
• Meet with contractors to discuss work schedules and expectations.
• Complete assigned maintenance tasks such as painting, electrical repairs, plumbing, and general carpentry.
• Perform emergency on-call service for after-hours maintenance-related issues, typically every other week.
• Maintain a positive and respectful attitude towards residents, vendors, and staff.
• Generate weekly maintenance reports and submit them to Corporate Management.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in community building maintenance or related trade.
• Practical skills in trades such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
• Ability to use MS Word and MS Excel for reporting purposes.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable transportation and ability to pass a background check.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with heating and cooling equipment.
