About the position

The Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for selling lumber framing packages and construction materials to builders, contractors, and construction companies. This role focuses on building strong relationships with clients, identifying their needs, and providing effective solutions to enhance their projects and overall efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the construction industry, focusing on builders and contractors.
  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of lumber framing packages and other construction materials to effectively communicate features and benefits to clients.
  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to adjust sales strategies accordingly.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals tailored to meet the specific needs of clients.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of products and manage customer inquiries regarding orders and inventory.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and forecasts using our CRM system.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in outside sales, preferably in the construction or building materials industry.
  • Strong understanding of lumber framing packages and construction materials.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Ability to analyze market data and identify trends.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred but not required.
