About the position

The Building Materials Sales Representative is a vital role within our sales team, responsible for promoting and selling a diverse range of building materials to wholesale customers, including contractors, builders, and architects. This position requires a motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills and industry knowledge to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve sales targets and expand customer base.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, and referrals.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business and customer satisfaction.
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of the building materials product line and effectively communicate product features, benefits, and applications to customers.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the quality and value of products.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to customers on product selection and usage.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth order processing and delivery.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and analyses for management review.
  • Recommend pricing strategies and promotional activities to maximize sales and profitability.
  • Stay updated on industry developments, product innovations, and best practices through continuous learning and training.
  • Participate in trade shows, industry events, and networking activities to enhance visibility and expand professional network.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Sales Representative or similar role in the building materials industry.
  • Knowledge of lumber and framing packages.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Results-driven with a strong commitment to achieving sales targets and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
