About the position

The Building Operations Clinic Technician is responsible for general building maintenance and support for dental and laboratory equipment at the Sacramento Campus. This role involves ensuring the readiness of clinical spaces for student and faculty use, maintaining and repairing dental equipment, and coordinating with various departments and vendors to facilitate repairs and maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Support Senior Dental Technician and clinical events, projects, requests, and work orders.
  • Act as the main contact for the Sacramento Campus.
  • Assess, maintain, and repair dental equipment including clinic units, chairs, lights, air compressors, and more.
  • Maintain x-ray equipment, alcohol supply, treatment support labs, and medical gas supply.
  • Perform daily inspections of the clinic to ensure readiness for use and report larger issues to the Senior Superintendent.
  • Enter and maintain records of all inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs.
  • Provide support and coordination for practicals, exams, and courses in clinical spaces under the direction of the Senior Superintendent.
  • Interact with equipment manufacturers and vendors to ensure proper use and reliability of equipment.
  • Perform general building support and facility maintenance, including coordination of repairs with university departments and vendors.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the facility by picking up trash during shifts.
  • Provide coverage for other staff members as directed.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Three (3) years of experience in general building maintenance/repairs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of basic Microsoft Word, Excel, and building management systems.
  • Dental equipment repair experience.
  • General facility maintenance and repairs experience.
  • Experience with general fire, life, emergency, and safety equipment and procedures.
  • Basic computer skills including email and internet use.
  • Experience using tools associated with general building and dental equipment repairs.
  • Ability to diagnose problems related to dental school equipment and offer solutions.
  • Ability to keep accurate records and maintain inventory of replacement parts needed for all equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate professionally with diverse groups.
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.

  • Competitive hourly wage ranging from $22.03 to $29.18 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
