About the position

The Building Substitute Teacher will serve as a flexible educator within the Willoughby Middle School, filling in for teachers as needed throughout the school year. This role is essential for maintaining continuity in the classroom and supporting student learning in the absence of regular teachers. The position requires adaptability, as substitutes may be assigned to different classrooms or even different buildings based on daily needs.

Responsibilities

• Fill in for teachers as needed within the assigned building.
• Adapt to various classroom environments and student needs.
• Maintain a positive learning environment for students.
• Follow lesson plans provided by the regular teacher when available.
• Communicate effectively with school staff and administration.

Requirements

• Valid Teaching Certification license is required.
• Ability to adapt to different classroom settings and student needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a classroom setting as a teacher or substitute.
• Familiarity with the curriculum used in the Willoughby-Eastlake City School District.
