We are currently seeking an experienced Building Superintendent for a multifamily apartment building located in East Orange, NJ. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in managing day-to-day maintenance issues, ensuring that management is kept informed, and providing quality service to tenants. This position requires a proactive approach to maintenance and a commitment to tenant satisfaction. The Superintendent will be responsible for various maintenance tasks, including light plumbing, electrical work, and painting. Candidates must possess their own vehicle and a working smartphone, as well as their own hand tools. This is a full-time, live-in position that requires the Superintendent to be on call 24/7, ensuring that all maintenance needs are addressed promptly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day maintenance issues in the apartment building.
- Keep management informed about maintenance problems and tenant needs.
- Ensure tenants receive quality service and address their concerns promptly.
- Perform light plumbing, electrical work, and painting as needed.
- Maintain the property to ensure it meets safety and quality standards.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in property maintenance or a similar role.
- Knowledge of light plumbing, electrical work, and painting.
- Must have a valid driver's license and own a car.
- Possess a working smartphone for communication.
- Own hand tools necessary for maintenance tasks.
Nice-to-haves
- Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
