About the position
The Building Technician role at Insight Global involves supporting the daily technical operations, maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of mission-critical spaces in Maryland and Virginia. This position requires expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other systems within large commercial buildings, ensuring the efficient operation of facilities ranging from 160,000 to 400,000 square feet.
Responsibilities
- Utilize Maximo to assign and close out tickets.
- Perform building maintenance and preventative maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and repair central plant operations, including boilers, chillers, rooftop units, split systems, and variable air volume systems.
- Maintain controls and building automation systems (Distech), motors, generators, high & low voltage systems, transformers, and auxiliary equipment.
- Manage water feeds and treatment, valves, pumps, and electrical and plumbing systems.
- Have knowledge of fire alarm systems and BAS systems.
- Read and interpret 1 & 3 line drawings, blueprints, mechanical & plumbing drawings, and internal wiring schematics.
- Explain highly technical issues to building tenants.
Requirements
- Heavy HVAC experience and ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain large HVAC systems independently.
- CFC Universal certification.
