About the position

WSP USA Buildings, Inc. is seeking a Building Technology Systems Associate Consultant specializing in Revit production for structured cabling, audiovisual security, and code-required communications systems. This role involves supporting technical staff and project managers in the design, development, and inspection of smart building projects, focusing on digital transformation and sustainability. The consultant will engage with clients to analyze challenges at the intersection of business and technology, develop design narratives, and coordinate the integration of various intelligent building systems.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze client challenges at the intersection of business and technology.
  • Support client stakeholder engagement, including ideation workshops and design requirements identification.
  • Develop user journey and touch point maps, creating graphical deliverables for client stakeholders.
  • Provide support to Building Technology System engineers in identifying operational outcomes and functional benefits.
  • Coordinate with clients to gather and document system and design requirements.
  • Create design narratives and coordinated construction documents (Drawings and CSI Specifications).
  • Participate in project meetings with the design team and clients, including potential construction meetings.
  • Coordinate integration of security and telecommunications systems with other intelligent building systems.
  • Support the lead consultant in engaging clients for Smart Building projects.
  • Assist in developing deliverables for artificial intelligence-ready building projects.
  • Collaborate on Integrated Automation designs for facility-related control systems.
  • Research and validate technical capabilities of potential smart building technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, architecture, planning, design, social science, or equivalent experience.
  • 1 - 3 years of work experience in consulting or designing technology-related solutions.
  • High proficiency in Revit and Bluebeam; proficiency in ACAD is desired.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working directly with clients, including architects and building owners.

Nice-to-haves

  • Design experience related to Structured Cabling Systems, Security, Audiovisual, Nurse Call, and DAS.
  • Knowledge of TIA/EIA, Bicsi, and FGI standards and guidelines.
  • Membership in local professional practice organizations.
