About the position

Prometheus is seeking a Commercial Building Utility Engineer for its Commercial division in the San Mateo region. This role involves the skilled operation, maintenance, and repair of commercial building equipment, ensuring the preservation of these assets while contributing to the financial goals of the property through effective management of maintenance functions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the safe and efficient operation of all systems in the facility, including reading meters and gauges, troubleshooting equipment, and maintaining building systems.
• Write detailed reports and logs of repairs, installations, test results, and preventive maintenance work performed.
• Contribute to property financial goals through effective productivity and cost management of maintenance functions.
• Schedule and assist vendors throughout commercial sites to ensure compliance with property requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Class A high-rise building and mixed-use experience preferred.
• Familiarity with FACP, Electrical, Fire Life Safety Systems, and building automation.
• Knowledge of commercial building areas, locks, plumbing, roofs, HVAC, and life safety equipment.
• 1-2 years of work experience in Commercial HVAC, plumbing, and electrical repairs preferred.
• Basic computational skills; ability to add, subtract, divide, and multiply.
• Ability to prepare and analyze data figures and transcriptions generated by a computer.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
