About The Position

The Buildings and Grounds Mechanic at Moog, Inc. is responsible for performing a variety of skilled maintenance, repair, and renovation services across the Moog East Aurora Campus. This role ensures the functionality and safety of facilities through routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and timely repairs, requiring knowledge in multiple skilled trades such as plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in multiple skilled trades.
  • Demonstrated journey-level skills in one trade and strong skills in other applicable trades.
  • Thorough knowledge of methods, materials, equipment, and tools used in one skilled trade area.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, plans, drawings, and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled maintenance, repair, and renovation services including plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general utility work.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure facility functionality and safety.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on installed equipment, including inspections and documentation.
  • Complete alterations and additions to existing buildings and structures.
  • Install grid work and ceiling tiles for suspended ceilings.
  • Remove and repair tile floors, and install new tile and carpeting.
  • Repair and replace ventilation ducts.
  • Paint walls and partitions.
  • Fabricate items from wood or metal such as racks, stands, and cabinets.
  • Replace glass in windows and repair office furniture.
  • Diagnose and fix mechanical malfunctions on various building systems.
  • Respond to routine maintenance and service requests.
  • Use hand and power tools associated with trade work.
  • Participate in the maintenance and operation of general shop equipment.
  • Respond to urgent maintenance calls outside of regular working hours.
  • Consult and coordinate with other trades workers and provide instruction to others.
  • Attend training to maintain skill currency.
